We will answer any query you may have as quickly as possible. Telephone lines are open during normal business hours, 9:30am - 5:30pm, every day.
Registration will also enable you to take advantage of other site facilities including viewing your orders and saving your favourite searches
New Customer Registration
- all boxes marked with * are required.
- Make sure you enter your email address correctly otherwise we will not be able to contact you with confirmation of your order
- Enter a unique password. Passwords that include numbers are more secure as they are not easily guessed by third parties.
- Enter your password again in the "Confirm password" box to make sure you have typed it correctly
- Click "Register" at the bottom of the page to send your registration to us.
Existing Customer Login
Click on "Login Here" beneath the "Quick Search" box at the top of the home page.
Enter your email address and password
- The email address you enter has to be the one associated with your Stella & Rose's Books account
- If your login is successful the name you registered with us will be displayed at the top of the page along with the "View My Account" and "Logoff" links
- For security reasons if you do not access the website for a period of time while logged in, you will find that you have been logged out. Providing you do not close the browser anything in your basket will remain there until you log in again.
Forgotten your password?
If you cannot remember the password you gave when you registered with us, use the "click here" link on the login page and we will send it to you immediately via email.
As a security measure, you cannot request that your password be sent to any email account other than the one
you have registered with us.
Logging Off
- If you access your Stella & Rose's Books account from a public computer, such as those used in libraries or schools, it is recommended that you log out of your account when you have finished using our website. This prevents other people from accessing your account. Your credit card information cannot be accessed via your account so this is not a security issue if you forget to sign out.
- If your name and the "logoff" link is not displayed at the top of the home page then you are not logged in.
- Anything in your basket will remain in your basket until you login again only if you do not close the browser between logoff and login
- Check that your saved address (your billing address) is correct
- Click the button labelled "Use Address & Continue" on the left of the page below your address
- Enter the address you want your order sent to in the box on the right side of the page.
If you want to have a different name on the shipping address, you may enter the name in the comments box (at the end of the checkout). Lines marked * are required Check all the details are correct. - Click the button labelled "Use Address & Continue" below the address you just entered.
2) Choose a shipping method
You have a choice of shipping methods depending on where you want your order sent and the value of the book(s) in your basket. Shipping costs are calculated automatically and are based on the total weight of the items in the basket (plus 200g for packaging).
If there is more than one shipping option available, please click the down arrow on the drop-down list to see all the available shipping options. once you have selected a shipping method, please click 'continue'.
This page allows you to select a payment method to complete your order. The options available are:
- Credit/Debit Card (Excluding Maestro)
- Maestro card only
- PayPal - pay immediately using Sagepay
- Cheque or Postal Order
- PayPal - pay by invoice
1) Payment by credit / debit card (Excluding Maestro)
For your security, credit & debit card payments are made on the secure payment pages at SagePay (previously known as protx). SagePay, a division of Sage (UK) Limited, allows you to enter card details and receive an authorisation response without the details being seen by us. You can read more about SagePay at their website www.sagepay.com
You will be required to enter the card number, expiry date, start date or issue number (if applicable), the name of the cardholder as it appears on the card, and the security number.
Check addresses
- Check that the shipping addresses is the address you want the parcel sent to
- Check that the billing address is the address of the cardholder
Once you have entered your payment details at SagePay, you will receive a response indicating that the transaction has been successful or a message indicating why the transaction failed. You will be returned to our website where you can continue shopping or close your session.
IMPORTANT: while on the SagePay payment pages, you should not press the browser back button otherwise you will see an error message. Currently it is not possible to pay using a Maestro card at Sagepay.
2) Maestro card only
Although it is not possible to use a Maestro card at the Sagepay payment pages, we do accept Maestro payments by telephone - you can place your order online and then contact us with your card details by telephone.
3) Immediate payment using PayPal
Sagepay includes an option for you to make payment using PayPal - when you select this option you will see a PayPal button to the right hand side of the credit card logos. Clicking this button will transfer you to the PayPal secure site where you can make payment from your PayPal account (or credit card associated with it). If you don't have a PayPal account, don't worry - there is an option for you to use your credit card directly on that page.
4) Payment by Cheque or Postal Order
Please note that cheques & postal orders must be in UK pounds and drawn on a UK bank.
To pay by cheque
- Click on the down arrow and select the "cheque or postal order" option
- Click the button labeled “Continue”
- The cheque payment confirmation message will be displayed
Check address
- Check that the shipping address is the address you want the parcel sent to
Send us your order:
- Click on the button labelled “Place My Order” to send your order and payment details to us via our secure ordering service
- Your order is now complete and you will be redirected to the order confirmation page.
Please do not send payment until you have heard from us
On receipt of your order we will
- confirm availability
- reserve the book(s) for you
- confirm shipping costs
On receipt of your payment by cheque or postal order we will ship the book(s) to you.
5) Payment by PayPal - request a PayPal invoice
To request a PayPal invoice -
- Click on the downarrow and select the "PayPal - pay by invoice" option
- Click the button labeled “Continue”
- The PayPal payment confirmation message will be displayed
Check address
- Check that the shipping address is the address you want the parcel sent to
Send us your order:
- Click on the button labelled “Place My Order” to send your order and payment details to us via our secure ordering service
- Your order is now complete and you will be redirected to the order confirmation page.
On receipt of your order we will
- confirm availability
- reserve the book(s) for you
- confirm shipping costs
We shall send you a PayPal invoice that will allow you to complete payment. On receipt of your payment we will ship the book(s) to you.
To access your account page click on “View My Account” at the top of the home page
From your account page you can
- view your orders
- amend your address details
- run your favourite saved searches
- delete your saved searches
- change your email address
Favourite searches
To run your saved searches click on the name of the search you want to run
- All search criteria is saved except the following which you will need to select again
- Ordering options (price high to low, author, title)
- Boolean search option
View Your Orders
Your last five orders are shown in summary.
To view all orders click on the link “view all orders here”
To view the detail of one of your orders click on the Order ID. This shows:
- Order number, date and total price
- Billing and shipping addresses
- Payment method selected
- Book titles
- Shipping method and cost
- Comments
Personal Details
Your name, address and contact details are displayed
Click the link to amend your details or change your password
To change your personal details
- Complete the form
- Click on the button labeled “Submit” below the fax number box
To change your password
- Enter your new password
- Enter it again in the box labelled “Confirm password”
- Click the button labelled “Submit” below the password box
To change your email address
- Click on the Amend link by the side of your current email address
- Enter your new email address in the box
- Click the button labelled Submit
- Note. Having changed your email address you must then log out and log back in again using your new address
