Wills & Hepworth Ltd. 7th1949. Very good condition in an almost very good dustwrapper. Series 401. Dark orange boards with square pictorial onlay to front and titles. Spine and corners bumped. Cover edges very slightly grubby. Inscription in ink to front endpaper, endpapers lightly browned. A few light brown spots to first text page and to rear of last illustration. Grey wrapper is a little grubby, is slightly rubbed at corners and has a small closed tear to top edge of front panel. A nice copy of an early edition.

Wills & Hepworth Ltd. 2nd1946. Very good condition in an almost very good dustwrapper. Series 417. Green boards with colour vignette and titles. Also contains: THE NIGHT WATCHMAN. Light bumping to top and tail of spine and corners. A couple of very small marks to covers. Spine is in great condition! Tiny mark to edge of some page margins. Pictorial wrapper is a little edge-chipped, with virtually no loss. Large closed tear to rear (1.5" long). Grubby marks to wrapper. Some edge-creasing. A few patches of surface paper damage to top of front panel of wrapper. Still a lovely copy of a scarce 2nd edition!

Light fox spots to prelims. Colour pictures very bright. Wrapper spine slightly faded, worn to spine and corners and a few grubby marks, 1 small pen scribble to front near title. Wrapper flaps grubby.

Spine and corners worn, spine slightly edge rubbed. Rear cover just a little grubby. Front joint is very weak, almost broken, light page fingering and creasing but generally contents clean.

Wrapper is edge creased and torn with a few pieces of loss to front corners, grubby with light pencil marks to rear panel.
